So, I picked this title thinking that it was quite clever since our last travel blog was "Scott and Stacey Head West" and that we are in fact going east. Then the anal..or, as I like to call it highly analytical... self came to realize that we are in fact taking a western bound road trip from Rome to Barcelona. So perhaps a title like S&S head east and then west would have been more appropriate, but wordier for sure.
I took a quick look at the old blog today and I was so happy we took the time to chronicle the trip. This post from my 27th birthday reminded me that the prime of my late 20's is over even though it is hard to believe it has already been 3 years. Our summer in Vancouver brings back so many great memories. It was the first time Scott and I lived in the same city. It was the first time I got to see a home my brother lived in that wasn't with my parents. It was the first time I had ever seen snow in May or seen the Rockies aside from being on a plane. To top off all the fun we had driving across the country and spending time in the most beautiful city in North America, I had the opportunity to get to know my distant family better. I quickly came to realize that my good ol' Uncle Jeff married one of the coolest chicks on the planet. I also met my youngest cousins Chris and Mikey for the first time....I got to be there when Mikey was turning one and learning to walk and now he's 4 and one of the funniest kids I know. Time flies and it's great to have a place on the 'interweb' to look back at the fun times.
Anyway, enough of the retrospect, please check back soon for new posts with reports of our exciting new adventure. The schedule looks a little something like this:
August 12-15 Rome
August 16-17 Cap D'Ail (French Riviera)
August 18-20 Barcelona
August 21 - somewhere in the Italian Riviera on our way back home :(
You can also check out our Google Map of the places we'll be seeing. One of the fun things about planning this trip has been having friends tell us what their favorite spots are in our destination cities, if you have any suggestions or tips, let us know!
Enjoy
